When Perth born Danny Green planned his comeback boxing match in 2015 at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne, his team wanted to create a ring that had enough style and presence to match ‘The Green Machine’. The boxing canvas had to be eye-catching but safe and able to show the sponsors’ logos with vibrant colours exactly the right hue and tone to match their brand names.
We hand-painted the logos and sponsors names with flexible paint which is great for all sorts of events and sports, ensuring any fancy footwork doesn’t crack or damage the detail necessary for the mat. Working to a tight deadline as always, we ensured the canvas was personally delivered the night before the event as agreed.
Under the stadium lights the boxing canvas stood up to multiple fights before the main event and then the ultimate test that the two Cruiserweight pugilists put it through, providing enough traction for them to aim and land some stunning punches, represent the main sponsors for the epic fight to perfection and finally provide the perfect floor to present the winners on the night to the expectant audience.
Danny Green – The Green Machine – won his comeback fight against Argentina’s Roberto Bolonti, by 100 – 90 on all the score cards after 10 rounds in the ring. The Australian may not have knocked him out, but the ring and mat certainly stood up to the pounding given to it by these two professional Cruiserweight boxers!
